Assessment criteria

The learner can:
- Fill a bucket with cleaning fluid and prepare floor for mopping
- Mop a small area marked on the floor
- Remove excess water from the mop
- Mop close to edges of walls and furniture
- Sweep and vacuum a small area (marked area on the floor)
- Deal with the vacuum plug and wind cable for safety
- Sweep and vacuum close to the edges of walls and furniture
- Move objects to sweep and vacuum under them
- Use a dustpan to move dirt to the bin
- Identify dirty surfaces
- Collect appropriate cleaning supplies for job
- Clean an identified surface with a damp cloth and cleaning spray
- Identify and remove stubborn dirt or stains
- Collect appropriate materials and products to clean with
- Dust large, flat surfaces and furniture appropriately
- Dust small objects carefully and returns them to the appropriate spot
- Safely move items on a table to be dusted
- Spray and wash large windows and mirrors with glass cleaner
- Clean glass around edges and into corners
- Sort rubbish into the bin
- Remove bin bag they have identified as needing changing
- Replace a bin bag in an area they have identified
- Secure bin bag and put outside
- Identify and sort three different materials to be recycled
- Sort clothes by colour, light vs dark, for washing
- Load dirty laundry into washing machine and close door
- Set temperature and cycle dials for washing
- Place correct amount of detergent in washer
- Identify clothes suitable for tumble drying
- Set dial and timer for load
- Hang non tumble drying clothes on clothes rail to dry
- Hang clothes on appropriate hangers
- Fold towels and clothes
