The learner can:
- Talk to the class or small group on two occasions about a visit in the community using speech, symbols, signing and/or AAC
- Recall a key fact about a visit in the community on five occasions
- Give brief eye contact to a speaker on five occasions
- Show they can listen to the person who is speaking by recalling something they have said on three occasions
- Use speech, symbols, signing and/or AAC on two occasions to make a request in the community e.g. express a choice, request further information
- Develop two posters about areas visited in the community including pictures and text
- Compose simple sentences about places to visit within the local area on at least three occasions
- Compose a compound or complex sentence about a visit to the community on at least one occasion
- Use identified topic-related vocabulary in a permanent format (e.g. written sentences, colourful semantics)
