- Listen to a one step instruction and follow it four out of five times
- Begin to respond to another student's questions and ask one back e.g. looking in their direction, responding to their name, using symbols to support
- Initiate conversation/communication with a friend or adult in the class e.g. how are you? Do you like...? (this can be with chosen communication method)
- Explore talking in different situations e.g. on the phone, over the counter, to a friend etc.
