The learner can:

  • Identify the names of each section on the 'eatwell' plate and name at least three foods in each section
  • Identify the main nutrients needed by the body and give examples of main food sources e.g calcium is needed for healthy bones and teeth, a good source of calcium is milk
  • Review a sample of bad diets and explain the results they could have on health e.g too much sugar could cause obesity
  • Research online to find a recipe that will be considered healthy E.g carrot and coriander soup
  • Gather the correct ingredients and equipment needed
  • Follow the correct steps to prepare the chosen food/meal
