Learning aim
The learner will research, observe, and compare how dog behaviour is shown in real life and in Roblox games (such as Adopt Me!). They will evaluate similarities and differences, consider what games get right (or wrong), and reflect on how understanding dog behaviour helps with animal welfare in both digital and real worlds.

Assessment criteria
(What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome)
The learner can:
- Identify at least six real- life dog behaviours (e.g., wagging tail, barking, play bow, growling, rolling over, licking)
- Explain what each behaviour may mean (happy, playful, anxious, warning, submission)
- Include evidence from at least two sources (books, websites, or interviews with owners)
- Create a fact file about the behaviours researched
- Choose at least one Roblox game with pets (e.g., Adopt Me!)
- Record via images and writing at least four ways pets show feelings or needs in the game (e.g., glowing when happy, slumping when tired, jumping when excited, showing “need icons” for hunger or play)
- Describe what each digital behaviour means in game terms (e.g., “sparkles = pet is happy,” “sleeping animation = pet is tired”)
- Create a comparison chart or table showing at least four similarities (e.g., both show excitement when given food) and four differences (e.g., real dogs growl when anxious, Roblox pets don’t)
- Identify at least one strength of how Roblox represents animal needs (e.g., reminding players to feed/walk pets)
- Identify at least one limitation or inaccuracy (e.g., Roblox pets don’t show stress signs realistically)
