The learner can:

  • Participate in a group discussion about rules and their purpose (e.g. 'We follow rules to stay safe') 
  • Share examples of rules they follow at home or school 
  • Use picture cards to sort 'rule' vs 'not a rule' scenarios 
  • Go on a classroom or school walk to spot and list rules or look at pictures to identify at least three rules in a familiar setting (e.g. 'We walk in the hallway', 'We raise our hand to speak')
  • Match pictures of simple rules to their written/spoken descriptions
