The learner can:

  • Participate in a discussion to identify at least three examples of rules or laws in the community (e.g. crossing at traffic lights, not littering, wearing a seatbelt)
  • Match pictures of community rules to their written descriptions
  • Go on a local walk and take photos or draw pictures of signs or rules seen in the community 


  • Explain in simple terms why rules and laws are important (e.g. 'Rules help keep people safe') 
  • Participate in group discussion about what would happen if there were no rules
