The learner can:

  • Identify, from a selection, different technological items found in the home, e.g. microwave, vacuum cleaner, telephone, washing machine, toaster
  • Use two technological items found in the home with support, e.g. CD player, vacuum cleaners, microwave, toaster
  • Demonstrate, when prompted, safe practises when using technological items found in the home, e.g. dry hands if using an electric plug
  • Identify, from a selection, different technological items found in the community e.g. cash machine, chip & pin device
  • Use two technological items found in the community with support, e.g. cash machine, chip & pin, self-scan in a shop
  • Demonstrate, when promoted, safe practises when using technological items found in the community, e.g. shielding pin number
