The learner can:
- Identify and sort images of 2D shapes in familiar situations eg honeycomb, traffic signs, sports equipment
- Identify and label right angles in 2D shapes using a square
- Sort 2D shapes using two criteria:
- has right angles
- does not have right angles
- State and record the number of curved/straight sides/vertices of a range of common 2D shapes
- Compare the properties of 2D shapes, responding to questioning eg which shape has more straight sides than a square?
- Identify common 3D shapes from familiar objects eg sports equipment, food packaging
