    Be able to listen and show understanding of the poppy story.

  • 2 .  

    Participate in a visit to a cenotaph to show their respect to the soldiers.

Assessment criteria

(What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome)

The learner can:

  • Put events of the story in the correct order
  • Communicate at least two reasons as to why the poppy is important
  • Answer questions about the poppy story
  • Give an example of what they did at the cenotaph eg place a homemade wreath next to the cenotaph, take part in two minutes silence, read the names of the the soldiers etc. 
  • Create a poster relating to the visit to the cenotaph
