Assessment criteria

The learner can:

  • Discuss with their group what it is they want to sell
  • Discuss with their group design ideas
  • Discuss with their group how to create the product
  • List the materials and equipment needed
  • Identify steps to be undertaken to create the product
  • Identify the different processes and allocate these to each member of the team
  • Create the product using the agreed materials 
  • Take part in a discussion to calculate the cost of the materials used
  • Identify three other additional production costs that would apply in the real commercial world eg time, energy costs etc
  • Take part in a discussion to agree the selling price for the product 
  • Discuss with others what is meant by marketing and 'target market'
  • Identify at least three different target markets for a business such as Macdonalds
  • Identify different marketing campaigns that a business such as McDonalds use
  • Agree their target markets for the product they have created
  • Identify how they are going to market their product
