Assessment criteria
(What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome)
The learner can:
- Identify and research at least 20 sweet and savoury dishes that can be made in the allowed time
- Choose the correct tools and equipment needed to prepare the chosen recipe
- Be in control of the cooking timings and adjusting temperatures as required
- Demonstrate good time management to present each dish within the time allowed
- Demonstrate excellent personal hygiene when preparing and cooking the food
- Use a range of equipment safely, ensuring that all equipment and work surfaces are cleaned after use
- Demonstrate how to prevent cross contamination when preparing ingredients and check food is cooked thoroughly and safe to eat
