The learner can:

  • Attend a trip to a library in the community
  • Behave appropriately within a library, knowing that it is a place to be quiet
  • Identify how the library is organised and compare to the one at school
  • Read or point to the title of the book of their choosing from the library
  • Read or point to the author of the book of their choosing from the library
  • Name two different genres of books
  • Find four books within the same genre to place together in order to sort the library
  • State a reason why organising by genre is better than organising by reading level 
  • Name their favourite genre of book to read
