  • Experiment whether at least six different objects float or sink
  • Record findings from experiment
  • Use communication system to comment float/sink
  • Explore floating and sinking in the natural environment (e.g., throwing natural objects into a lake, playing pooh sticks with different types of sticks) and comment which objects float or sink


  • Experiment with at least three different materials to see which melts ice faster
  • Follow a simple work system to collect the equipment and set up the experiment
  • Use preferred communication system to make a simple comment about what is happening (e.g., ice melting, fast, slow)
