The learner can:

  • Describe what money is used for and give at least two examples of spending (e.g. 'We use money to pay for food and bus tickets')
  • Participate in a group discussion and contribute at least two ideas
  • Create a collage or drawing showing items that require money
  • During a shopping trip or role-play a shopping trip and explain what is being bought and why
  • Identify at least four items in a shop or role-play scenario that require payment and group them by type (e.g. food, clothes, toys)
  • Use a shopping list to locate and price items in a classroom shop
  • Match items to price tags and sort them into categories
  • Use a visual board to group items that cost money and those that don’t (e.g. library books vs. snacks)
