Assessment criteria

(What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome)

The learner can:

  • Identify four adult services or professionals who help people (e.g., social worker, OT, physiotherapist, GP, support worker)
  • Visit or virtual tour of a local adult service (e.g., community health centre, adult social care office)
  • Identify at least three tools, uniforms, or symbols used by professionals in adult services (e.g., ID badge, therapy equipment, nurse uniform, appointment letter)
  • Match tools or symbols to the correct job role (e.g., stethoscope → nurse, therapy bands → physiotherapist)
  • Describe the purpose of at least two tools or symbols (e.g., “a walking frame helps people move safely”)
  • Recognise at least two processes involved in accessing adult services (e.g., making an appointment, attending a meeting, filling in a form)
  • With support, take part in a role-play or real-life simulation of one process (e.g., asking for help, attending an appointment, showing ID)
