The learner can:

  • Research and identify at least three methods of securing the home and explain the reasons why these security measures are effective.
  • Demonstrate, using appropriate tools, how to fit at least one home security device / measure and explain how this is done to another person.

 

  • Identify and explain where fire exits are in the centre and establish one possible consequence of blocking the route to these.
  • Research and explain what an escape plan is and why it is important to have this in place.
  • Demonstrate and explain how to use fire safety equipment appropriately including the purpose of each type of fire extinguisher to put out a fire.
