Assessment criteria
(What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome)
The learner can:
- Describe at least three factors involved in consuming a healthy and balanced diet
- Demonstrate they know what the Eatwell Guide is
- State at least four types of food for each of the food groups on the Eatwell Plate
- State two changes that could be made to their own diet
- Identify and state whether guests have specific dietary requirements e.g. vegan, allergies
- Research healthy starters, mains and desserts within designated budget and select an appropriate recipe for each course
- State final menu choices and explain the thinking behind these choices
- Calculate and list the cost of the ingredients needed for the menu
- Describe at least one problem that could arise when budgeting for the chosen menu
