Assessment criteria

The learner can:
- State the five food groups from the Eatwell plate and what foods are in each group
- State what it means to have a healthy balanced diet
- Fill out a weekly food diary
- State how their diet could become healthier
- Choose three healthy meals
- Prepare a shopping list for each meal and price up items required
- State which meals are within budget, choose one to cook and state why the meal has been chosen
- Agree a final shopping list with an appropriate person
- Prepare a list of kitchen equipment required
- Create a plan showing the steps that will need to be taken to create the meal
- Demonstrate using a shopping list in a supermarket
- Demonstrate buying items to an agreed budget
- State whether the items came in on budget
- Explain any problems that occurred when shopping
