The learner can:
- Fold and unfold the long cane correctly every time
- Understand and explain why there is a technique for folding and unfolding a long cane
- Understand and explain the importance of cleaning the cane tip
- Hold the long cane in a central position with the correct grip
- Use an appropriate arc width when sweeping their cane and be able to explain why
- Maintain walking in step across an open space
- Maintain the constant contact technique
- Explain why walking in step is important
