. Comfortably hold and use their cane in either hand for both diagonal and constant contact technique. -

The learner can:
- Hold their cane correctly for diagonal technique
- Navigate indoors in an open space and follow a shoreline using diagonal technique
- Understand and explain how diagonal technique helps navigation
- Seamlessly change hands when using constant contact or diagonal technique and continue on their way
- Detect and navigate around obstacles when using constant contact or diagonal technique
- Use their cane to identify the door handle
- Change hands where necessary, without prompting and position their cane correctly
- Open the door and walk through using the correct cane technique
- Close the door behind them
