- Identify the ingredients and equipment that will be needed to make a mug cake, by looking at the instructions on the box
- Collect the ingredients and equipment before starting to cook
- Follow the steps in the recipe on the mug cake box in a logical order to make the mug cake
- Keep equipment and the kitchen area clean when working
- Wash hands before handling food
- Handle hot items safely
- Use a suitable resource to find a recipe eg Internet search engine, recipe book, library
- Identify a recipe that is similar to the microwave mug cake made
