The learner can:

  • Follow the staff modelling of how to tie a single figure of eight knot and a double figure of eight knot and one other knot
  • Demonstrate how to tie a single figure of eight, a double figure of eight and one other knot independently
  • Make two suggestions about where best to place the shelter
  • Follow health and safety guidance when constructing the shelter
  • Work as part of a team to securely attach the ropes to the tarpaulin using a closed loop of para cord, a pebble and a  tent peg 
  • Work as part of a team to securely attach the ropes to their chosen fixed points
