The learner can:

  • State the name of at least three safe oils for animals
  • Describe one safety rule for handling oils around animals
  • Prepare oils safely (e.g. opening bottles, presenting them at a safe distance)


  • Offer an oil to an animal, following health and safety guidance
  • Record whether the animal chose to smell the oil or moved away
  • State how they ensured the animal’s safety during the activity
